Longtime Songmaker Mary Smith passed away on August 13, 2022 at her home in Salem, Oregon. She has now joined her late husband Frank in our heavenly hoot.

Mary and Frank joined Songmakers in the late sixties, early seventies. They were very active in West Valley Hoot as that’s where they lived, but they went to hoots every weekend no matter the location.  Mary always favored gospel songs and her gutbucket is probably setting the beat for those angelic voices!

Mary had been in hospice for several months and her heart finally gave up on her. That kind heart was what endeared her to so many Songmakers. She always welcomed everyone with her beautiful smile and she and Frank were always ready to lend a helping hand. Mary was a true friend and will be missed. She was 86.  Rest In Peace, Mary!
