Joel Bloom Obituary
May 26, 1950 – October 1, 2024 Joel Bloom of Los Angeles passed away peacefully at home in Northridge, with his partner of 22+ years, Lauren Soll, and their cat, Lefse, by his side. He lived a sometimes tough yet ultimately good life enriched by a huge heart and a boundless sense of humor. Lauren aptly dubbed him “The Fastest Quip in the West”. Music was Joel’s greatest joy and he was at his happiest when jamming and performing with his wide circle of friends.

Besides being an enthusiastic folk musician, I believe he was also an archery coach for the US Olympic team. April Wayland
I remember Joel for his smile, his Jeep Wrangler and his ability to play the correct chords, progressions and rhythms to any song. But most of all I remember him for his perfect white Nike shoes. I was convinced he wore a new pair every day! Goodbye my friend. Simon Lucas
