It is with great sadness that I share the following with you.
Julia Elliott, a popular music teacher and longtime resident of Camarillo, died on Oct. 9 at age 76.
Known to family and friends as Julie, she was born April 1, 1943, in St. Louis, MO, to mother Zana May Hall and father Fred Earl Wooldridge. She was the youngest of three children, along with Fred Earl Wooldridge and John Wesley Wooldridge.
Julie graduated from Marion (KS) High School and the University of Kansas, and taught music for two years at the John Diemer School in Overland Park, KS. She married Dr. Lee Elliott on Dec. 31, 1966, in Kansas City. The couple moved to Los Angeles in 1967 when Lee Elliott began his medical internship, and later lived in Germany before returning to Los Angeles, where Lee began his residency in urology.
They moved to Camarillo in 1975 when he began his private practice. Julie was a longtime private piano and voice teacher in Camarillo, she enjoyed playing bridge and participating in neighborhood activities, and her energy and enthusiasm for life was contagious to family and friends.
Survivors include son Michael Elliott, his wife Michelle and their son Sage, of Camarillo; daughter Shara Estus, her husband Robert and their sons Justin and Jake of North Carolina; and longtime companion Chuck Ackley.
