About Folk Circles…
Each player takes a turn presenting a song to the group. Others can sing along, but they don’t play until it’s their turn.
About Jams…
One player begins playing a song, and everyone in the circle can join in. There are breaks throughout the song, so that each instrument/player in the circle may be featured.
Some History…
“Old School” Music at the old Schoolhouse was started in 2021 in order to continue the tradition established more than 30 years ago with Mountain Music Day. The event is sponsored by the Oak Glen School House Museum and Park Assoc. They work with San Bernardino Co. Special Districts to provide educational events and activities for everyone. This is a free event. Donations are welcome and appreciated.
Please Note…
We’re looking for individuals who play these types of music and who want to play with others. Bands and other groups who want to perform in an area of the park on that day may do so, but rental fees and proof of liability insurance are required. We need volunteers to help set up, take down, distribute flyers and spread the word.
